This place is in a great location near a lively square with many pubs, and the rooms are usually clean with a view of a castle, plus there's an on-site restaurant.

The service was superb, including an early check-in. I got airy and compact room, it was included with slippers, great views, as example.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located in a busy area adjacent to Edinburgh for buisnbus and pleasure as well as the royal mile and attractions. Fresh and reasonably priced breakfast with lots of hot/cold dishes. Marvellous and beautiful location, with a scenic view to the castle.

The rooms are modern and have balconies.

Tbh, had a very nice stay during a long visit throughout the UK. Everything was perfect and clean, I loved staff and location. The pool was great, the staff was pleasant. The location was unbeatable and brilliant - within walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go. Great christmas in this beautiful area. The breakfast was reasonably priced, the check in was early.

The family queen room was recently decorated and had a balcony, a safe box, and an iron. The pool area was great and the location was marvelous and brilliant. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is just next door to other restaurants, Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh hop on hop off bus tour, recreation area, and the bustling shopping district of Princes Street. It is also walking distance from a historic fortress.

The rooms were clean and tidy but due to attending a conference it meant we did not eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on that side of it.

The sauna was not hot and the swimming pool was very small so with about 15 children in it it meant I could not swim in any direction - more like a cool bath than a swimming pool. The leisure facilities are poor compared to the Apex International in Dundee.

Lovely hotel in perfect location of Edinburgh's old town. Beautiful views of the castle from bedroom window. Nice, clean rooms, although some areas of the hotel could do with a little TLC.

The rooms at this place are modern, functional, and have a large bed, air conditioning, two windows.

The location was excellent with great proximity to the castle and there were many bars and pubs opposite the hotel which was perfect for the evening. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I think the overall price represented good value for money and I would recommend it to others.

The staff at Apex Grassmarket Hotel are welcoming and friendly. the location is fantastic, situated in a nice area and just a 5-minute walk to a bus stop. - the city double room was airy and comfortable. - Guests can enjoy a satisfactory breakfast during their stay. - Wake up service and local calls are free of charge, adding convenience to the stay.

Superb location, rooms very spacious, clean and well equiped, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast excellent, would book again.

Nice relaxed surroundings presented to a high standard at a reasonable price. Perfect location for our City Break with easy access to all trhat Edinburgh has to offer. Only dined in the Heights Restaurant for breakfast but this offered good food in an excellent location with 'to die for' views of the Castle.This is my second visit to the City and this Hotel and would definitely return here again - a view firmly supported by the friends we brought on this trip.

Have not had any bad experiences other than the main bar running out of a couple drinks.
